STUART MCMURDO
Director of Golf
Stuart started playing golf when he was just 11 years old in Buckinghamshire, UK. He developed a successful amateur career playing for BB & O county at all levels. While he attempted to play the sport full time, Stuart decided to pursue a career in golf operations after attaining a degree in Business Administration from Brunel University. In January 2004, Stuart began his journey at JA The Resort Golf Course as Golf Operations Manager. Shortly after, in 2006, he qualified for the Omega Dubai Desert Classic on the European Tour and is now a fully qualified European Tour/ R&A Golf referee, having worked on numerous tour events in the region. Stuart was promoted to Director of Golf in February 2018 and looks forward to developing the team and department towards JA The Resort Golf Course’s future success.
LUKE PLUMB
JA The Resort Leisure Sales Manager
Having arrived in the UAE from the UK in 2012, Luke has a wealth of experience in the sports and leisure industry. Luke has worked on some of the biggest golf events in the region, specifically being involved in the running of the DP World Tour Championship during his tenure at Jumeriah Golf Estates. He has also previously worked at Al Ain Equestrian Shooting and Golf Club, Al Badia Golf Club and was part of the pre-opening team at Trump International Golf Club bringing expertise learnt at several diverse golf clubs to his role at JA Resorts & Hotels.
ELLIOT ROWE
Golf Operations Manager
Originally from Shrewsbury, UK Elliot took up the game of golf at the age of 12. By 13, he decided to pursue his golfing ambitions over cricket. He achieved a scratch handicap, turned professional at 18 years old and soon began working at Shrewsbury Golf Course whilst playing on the regional professional circuit. Elliot made the move to Dubai in 2013, after a couple of years away from the game and joined the JA team. He hasn’t looked back ever since.
